About SWAN

SWAN (Sindhi Women Across North America) is SANA’s dedicated initiative to uplift, empower, and connect Sindhi women across the diaspora and in Sindh. Created to strengthen women’s leadership, visibility, and participation, SWAN serves as a platform where Sindhi women can engage, learn, collaborate, and advocate for their rights and opportunities.

Working under the leadership of the Vice President – Women Affairs, SWAN focuses on programs that support education, economic empowerment, professional development, and community engagement. It encourages women and girls to take active roles within SANA and ensures their voices are represented in organizational decision‑making.

Economic Empowerment of Sindhi Women in the 21st Century.

In 2026, SWAN organized a landmark Women’s Conference in Sindh on the theme “Economic Empowerment of Sindhi Women in the 21st Century.” The conference brought together experts, entrepreneurs, educators, and community leaders to explore pathways for financial independence, digital skills, and sustainable livelihoods for women across Sindh.

Role of the Vice President – Women Affairs

The Vice President – Women Affairs provides strategic leadership to SWAN and is responsible for:

Initiating and implementing SANA programs that promote the empowerment of women in Sindh.

Creating incentives and opportunities to increase the participation of women and girls in SANA activities.

Representing Sindhi women and girls in Executive Council meetings, community gatherings, seminars, and engagements with partner organizations.

SWAN reflects SANA’s commitment to building a future where Sindhi women — whether in North America or Sindh—are supported, connected, and empowered to thrive.
