The Sindhi Association of North America (SANA) is hosting its 40th annual convention in the city of Calgary, Western Canada from June 28-30, 2024. The theme of the convention this year is “The Rights of Indigenous People” which seeks to represent, identify and reflect on the issues of indigenous people.

The three-day event will have sessions around the theme, a film screening and programs focusing youth and women. SANA’s past presidents along with current one will celebrate and deliberate on SANA’s 40 years of journey of its existence, accomplishments and a futuristic direction.

It is heartening to note that guests from across the North America, India, Sindh, Pakistan, UAE, Middle East, Europe & Australia are planning to come this time. Some 600 guests are expected to attend this year’s convention.

Annual convention is an opportunity to celebrate and enjoy three nights of live Sindhi music, singers from Sindh and India will perform. Sindhi poetry recitation (Mushairo) session has been a tradition in SANA to cherish Sindhi language poetry.

While talking of Calgary, a vibrant city nestled in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, has long been a favored destination for conventions and conferences of all kinds. Its combination of stunning natural beauty, a dynamic urban landscape, and world-class facilities makes it an ideal host for events that bring people together to share knowledge, network, and collaborate.

SANA has planned a full day of picnic, outside the hotel, a day trip to Lake Louise, and Banff, imagine 600 people having conservations, enjoying meals on way, singing and dancing together for a day picnic.

The coming together of SANA members and rest of sindhi community converts convention place a small “Sindh” and an expression of its values of coexistence, secularism, and mystic love. SANA has been home of Sindhis while away from Sindh. What makes all of us as Sindhis is the bond of our historic homeland, language, culture & identity.

SANA is inviting you this three-day convention in Western Canada, city of Calgary, Alberta. Please register at your earliest before we close the registration once we will up the allocated numbers.

Please remember once we reach 500 registration (450+-already registered), SANA won’t be able to accommodate guests afterwards as the Hotel’s fire code law limits how many people can be seated in hall at a time.

Please note your earlier registration helps us plan better, produce and choreograph a memorable convention where we discuss ideas about our collective identity, threats and opportunities.

SEE YOU ALL IN CANADA..!
